Vortrag, Vorführung und Diskussion mit der japanischen Professorin Dr. Aki Nishioka zu der Popularität und Bedeutsamkeit von kamishibai in der japanischen Kulturgeschichte und dessen Einflüsse auf neue Medien und Erziehung.

Das japanische Papiertheater kamishibai schaut auf eine lange und bewegte Geschichte zurück. Die Professorin Dr. Aki Nishioka wird mithilfe seltener Fotografien und Texte die Popularität und Bedeutsamkeit von kamishibai in der Kulturgeschichte Japans vorstellen. Dabei spannt sie einen Bogen von frühen Erzählformen bis zur Entstehung des Papiertheaters und seiner Entwicklung zur Populärkultur. Die mobilen Theater hatten grosse Reichweite und wurden während des Zweiten Weltkrieges auch als Propagandainstrument eingesetzt. Weiter wird Aki Nishioka über die Einflüsse von kamishibai auf neuere Medien wie Manga und Anime sowie über den heutigen Einsatz in der Erziehung oder im Pflegesystem sprechen. Teil der Veranstaltung sind eine kamishibai-Vorführung und eine Diskussion über Zukunftsentwicklungen des Mediums und die Einsatzmöglichkeiten des Erzähltheaters in der Schweiz.

The Japanese paper theatre kamishibai looks back on a long and eventful history. Professor Dr. Aki Nishioka will present the popularity and significance of kamishibai in Japan's cultural history through rare photographs and texts. It spans an arc from early narrative forms to the emergence of paper theatre and its development into popular culture. The street theatres had a large reach and were also used as propaganda instruments during the Second World War. Aki Nishioka will also talk about the influence of kamishibai on newer media such as manga and anime as well as the current use in education and the care system. Part of the event will be a kamishibai demonstration and a discussion about future developments of the medium and the possible uses of narrative theatre in Switzerland.
